This is a simple tablesaw fixture that is for ripping thin veneers which will prevent a problem in which the veneers tend to flutter against the tablesaw blade.
The extended backboard is intended to fasten to a tablesaw fence system detailed in a book by Jim Tolpin called "Tablesaw Magic". This detail may be omitted and an alternative improvised by the builder.
