Building the Bouchie Dory Part 20 – Lapstrake Planking Part 3

Fitting lapstrake planks is one of those things that you can really only learn first hand. The concept is straight forward but the devil lies in the details and especially in the lines of the boat. Some hull forms are just going to be more difficult to fit and the nature of your planking stock can have a lot to do with it too. The main thing to remember is that you cannot edge set your planks. You can try but you will quickly find out that it simply doesn’t work.
