SHELLBACK DINGHY
It would be hard to imagine a better all-around small boat than the Joel White-designed Shellback Dinghy. She is a pleasure to row, fast and responsive under sail, and docile and well-mannered under tow. She is easy to build and maintain. Small enough to handle in and out of the water but big enough to handle a load. Lastly, she looks great. A touch of dory construction, a touch of faering flair. Intended capacity is 1-3 adults.
Shellback dinghy specs: Length 11’2″, Beam 4’5″, weight 100 lbs, Sail area 54 sq. ft.
A larger version, the 12′ 10″ Pooduck skiff, can provide additional space and handle rougher weather.
