In our third lesson we complete our scale lofting of the Bouchie Dory. This part of the drawing is called the “body plan”. It is comprised of slices of the boat across it’s breadth and the locations of our stations. Think of it like a loaf of sliced bread viewed from the butt end. It is this view that we will need to create our frames or moulds to build the boat. We create this view by lifting information off of the other views. Once complete we can record the table of offsets, from which we do our full sized lofting.
