We finally get on to seeing a little sawdust flying around but admittedly most of it will be at the sawmill we’ll visit. I talk a little about sawmill etiquette in this episode. Sawmills are wonderful places to visit but you can easily make yourself unwelcome if you walk in and act like an ass. Basic polite behaviour, awareness and consideration for an industrial workplace are the buzzwords for today. At this stage in the build I like to amass as much material for the project as I can and take care of the basic processing before I have a building form dominating the workshop space. Solid material is planed to thickness and sheet material is rough-cut for easier handling. Stacking the material in the order of eventual need is also a good idea in a confined workshop.
